Boston, MA – A mix of rain and snow is on the horizon for Boston as two weather systems are set to impact the area this week, bringing periods of wet conditions and chilly temperatures. Residents should prepare for rainy weather tonight and light snow accumulations late Friday into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, steady rain will fall overnight into early Thursday morning, with temperatures dipping into the mid-30s. Rainfall totals could reach up to three-quarters of an inch, making for slick roads during the Thursday morning commute. Thursday will turn mostly sunny but remain cool, with a high near 43 degrees.

Looking ahead, a second system will arrive late Friday, likely starting as a snowy mix between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., before turning to rain later in the day. Temperatures will struggle to climb past 39 degrees, with a northeast breeze between 6 and 10 mph. Snowfall totals are expected to remain minimal, with less than an inch likely.

By Friday night, light snow could redevelop, especially before midnight, as colder air filters back into the region. Saturday brings a 30% chance of snow showers, followed by dry and cold conditions. Highs on Saturday will reach 33 degrees before dropping into the low teens overnight.

Sunday promises clear skies but frigid temperatures, with a high near 23 degrees and gusty northwest winds making it feel even colder.

Travelers are encouraged to monitor road conditions through the weekend, as icy patches and reduced visibility may occur during snow showers. Plan ahead for slick roadways, especially during the Friday evening and Saturday morning periods.
