BOSTON, Mass. – A soggy and foggy start to the week will soon give way to crisp Fall sunshine as drier air moves into eastern Massachusetts. After Tuesday’s light rain and patchy fog, high pressure will return midweek, bringing clear skies, cooler air, and calmer travel conditions across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Norton, scattered showers and drizzle will linger through late Tuesday morning with northeast gusts up to 25 mph along the I-93 corridor and coastal areas. Temperatures will hold near 58°F before gradually clearing Tuesday night. By Wednesday, skies turn mostly sunny with highs near 63°F — perfect for outdoor work, fall cleanup, and travel across the Boston metro.

The shift marks a noticeable transition to true mid-October weather. Lows will fall into the low 40s Wednesday night as a reinforcing shot of cool air arrives. Residents across Suffolk, Middlesex, and Essex Counties can expect breezy afternoons but little to no rain through the end of the workweek.

Thursday and Friday both bring sunny skies, comfortable highs in the lower 60s, and excellent visibility for commuters along the Mass Pike and Route 1. Coastal winds ease, and humidity drops sharply.

Looking toward the weekend, a warmer pattern begins Saturday before another round of scattered showers may return Sunday night. Until then, Boston enjoys a dry, calm stretch — ideal for leaf-peeping, harbor walks, and classic New England Fall weather.
