Boston, Massachusetts – Rain-soaked roads and low visibility could disrupt travel across eastern Massachusetts Sunday morning, but relief is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and isolated thunderstorms will linger into early this afternoon, especially before 2 p.m., followed by a drying trend and gradual clearing. Fog and slick conditions may cause delays along I-93 and other major routes before skies begin to brighten later in the day. Highs will top out near 67°F, with a west wind gusting up to 20 mph.

By Sunday night, conditions turn mostly clear, setting the stage for a return to summer-like warmth. Monday brings sunshine and highs near 74°F, with light southwesterly breezes. Tuesday heats up further, reaching 80°F under blue skies — a sign of the season’s shift.

The real summer push arrives Wednesday, with temperatures climbing to 87°F. Southwesterly winds continue to pump in warmth and humidity, making it feel even hotter. Those working or commuting outdoors should stay hydrated and limit afternoon exposure.

Canadian wildfire smoke may still linger aloft early next week but is not expected to affect air quality at ground level in Boston.
