Boston, MA – Cooler-than-normal temperatures are settling across Massachusetts this weekend, with daytime highs struggling to reach the 60s on Saturday as onshore winds bring marine air inland.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston/Norton, high pressure off the East Coast is pulling in cool, moist air that’s keeping temperatures well below average for mid-June. Most cities across the Bay State will stay in the upper 50s to low 60s Saturday, with lows dipping into the low 50s overnight. Worcester and Springfield are expected to bottom out at 52°F and 54°F, respectively, by early Saturday.

Boston will likely top out near 60°F during the day before cooling again Saturday night. Outlying towns like Keene, Nashua, and Pittsfield will start Saturday morning in the low 50s, while areas along the South Coast, including New Bedford and Hyannis, remain in the upper 50s. Travelers and early risers should dress in layers, as morning temps will feel more like early spring than summer.

Sunday brings slightly warmer conditions, especially in the Connecticut River Valley, where some locations could approach 70°F. However, most of eastern and coastal Massachusetts will remain in the 60s.

More seasonal warmth could return early next week, but cooler weather remains in place through Sunday night.
