Massachusetts – Clouds are thickening over Boston this afternoon, and the shift toward a wetter, breezier pattern is already beginning to take shape. What starts as a cool, gray day quickly transitions into a mix of rain, wind, and a brief warmup by early this week.

According to the National Weather Service, highs reach near 52°F today before scattered showers develop tonight, mainly after late evening, with a 40 percent chance of rain. Winds increase Monday, with gusts reaching up to 31 mph as temperatures climb to around 69°F.

Drivers along I-93, I-90, and Route 1 should prepare for slick roads late tonight into early Monday. Reduced visibility and wet pavement may impact the morning commute. Allow extra time and keep headlights on.

By Tuesday, a noticeable warmup arrives. Highs jump to around 79°F under mostly sunny skies, offering a brief break from the unsettled pattern. That warmth will be short-lived.

Showers return Tuesday night and continue into midweek. Wednesday brings partly sunny skies with highs near 78°F before another round of rain develops late. A 40 percent chance of showers Wednesday night could affect evening travel across the metro.

Thursday remains unsettled with additional rain chances and highs near 73°F. Expect damp roads and periodic slowdowns during peak travel times.

This back-and-forth spring pattern keeps conditions changing quickly across eastern Massachusetts. Additional advisories may be issued as systems move through.

Five Day Outlook for Boston, Massachusetts:
Today: Increasing clouds, high 52°F
Tonight: Scattered showers, low 43°F
Monday: Breezy with scattered showers, high 69°F
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 79°F
