Massachusetts – Gray skies hang low over Boston this afternoon, and damp pavement hints at a day that refuses to fully dry out. A light breeze cuts through the city, and conditions remain unsettled as spring tries to push in.

According to the National Weather Service, a slight chance of showers continues early today with southwest wind gusts reaching up to 33 mph before easing later. While rain remains spotty at first, clouds linger and set the stage for a more active midweek pattern.

Across Boston, Cambridge, and surrounding areas, drivers along I-93, I-90, and Storrow Drive should stay alert for brief slick spots, especially during passing showers. Gusty winds may also impact bridge travel, including the Tobin Bridge, where crosswinds can catch drivers off guard.

By Tuesday, conditions improve with more sunshine and highs climbing into the upper 70s. That warming trend peaks Wednesday near 79°F, but it comes with a tradeoff. Shower chances increase to around 30 to 40 percent, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Midweek rain could create slower commutes and reduced visibility at times. Plan extra travel time and keep rain gear nearby, especially if heading out later in the day. Conditions may shift quickly as scattered showers move through.

Temperatures cool slightly by Thursday into the upper 60s, with additional chances for showers continuing into the end of the week. The pattern remains active, with no fully dry stretch in sight.

Tuesday: High 78°F, mostly sunny
Wednesday: High 79°F, chance of showers
Thursday: High 69°F, chance of showers
