BOSTON, MA – Spring has officially arrived, but Massachusetts residents are waking up to dense fog and a damp start to the season. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, reducing visibility to a quarter-mile or less and making travel hazardous, especially on I-90 and I-93.

According to the National Weather Service, the fog will gradually clear by mid-morning, leading to mostly cloudy conditions for the rest of Thursday. High temperatures will reach the mid-50s, with light southeast winds.

Friday brings the next weather system, with rain likely by early afternoon. Winds will shift to the northwest, bringing gusts up to 32 mph. Highs will hover near 48°F, making for a cool, wet day. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility during the evening commute.

The first weekend of spring offers a mixed forecast. Saturday will be mostly sunny and mild, with highs near 59°F. However, another system moves in by late Sunday, bringing increasing clouds and a slight chance of rain.

Looking ahead to next week, rain chances persist Monday and Tuesday, with cooler temperatures returning. By midweek, sunny skies should return, with highs in the mid-50s.
