Norwood, MA – A shooting early Monday morning in Norwood left one person injured and transported to a Boston trauma center, according to authorities.

According to the Norwood Police Department, dispatch received multiple reports of possible gunfire around 2:25 a.m. near Norwest Drive. Shortly afterward, a 911 call was made by a victim found near Prospect Street. Police and Norwood Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and provided aid before the victim was transported for further treatment.

Investigators determined the crime scene to be at the intersection of Irving and Blossom streets. At this stage, police said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
