BOSTON, Mass. – Spotty showers could dampen midweek plans across Massachusetts, but drier, sunnier days are on the horizon. Wednesday will bring cloud cover and scattered rainfall before a warm, summerlike weekend settles in.

According to the National Weather Service in Norton, showers are most likely Wednesday afternoon and evening, with rain chances near 40 percent overnight. Any precipitation will be light, though commuters may face slick roads into early Thursday. East winds will remain calm, shifting northeasterly by Thursday at 10 to 13 mph.

By Friday, skies clear and temperatures climb to 77 degrees in Boston. The warmth builds further over the weekend, with highs reaching 82 on Saturday under full sun. Northeastern and coastal towns may see stronger breezes, but overall, conditions favor outdoor plans.

Residents are urged to plan midweek errands around Wednesday’s rain windows and take advantage of the dry stretch beginning Thursday. The next chance of showers returns Sunday into Monday as another system moves through southern New England.
