Boston, MA – A mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow will impact Massachusetts this weekend, creating hazardous travel conditions as February begins. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially late Friday into early Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring a chance of freezing rain before 8 a.m., followed by steady rain. A wintry mix is expected overnight, with snow accumulation under half an inch. Temperatures will drop into the low 20s, with winds gusting up to 23 mph.
Saturday morning could see lingering snow before conditions gradually clear. Highs will reach 32°F, but northwest winds up to 14 mph will make it feel colder. Sunday brings mostly cloudy skies and a high of 36°F, followed by another round of rain and snow Sunday night.
Looking ahead, Monday will start wet, with rain chances at 40%, but warmer temperatures reaching 48°F. A cooling trend returns Tuesday with highs in the upper 30s.
Travelers should monitor road conditions, especially along I-90 and I-95, where ice and snow could create delays. Stay updated on local forecasts and use caution on untreated surfaces.
