Boston, MA – Residents across Massachusetts should prepare for changing weather conditions as a round of light snow is expected to move in tonight, followed by steady rain early this week. The National Weather Service warns that conditions could shift rapidly, urging drivers to exercise caution, especially late Saturday night into Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, snow is forecast to begin after midnight Saturday, with accumulation of up to an inch in some areas. Temperatures will hover around 28°F, creating slick roadways for early morning travel on Sunday. By Sunday afternoon, the snow will likely mix with rain, clearing by evening with highs reaching 45°F.
The next major system is anticipated Monday afternoon, bringing widespread rain across the region. Rain chances are expected to increase to 100% by Monday night and persist into Tuesday. Wednesday could bring the heaviest rainfall, with gusty winds up to 25 mph and highs nearing 59°F. Coastal areas should remain alert for localized flooding due to prolonged rainfall.
Travelers should check road conditions regularly, particularly along I-90 and Route 128, as wet and potentially icy patches may develop. Commuters on Monday and Tuesday are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
Stay tuned to the National Weather Service for updates as the forecast evolves, and be prepared for a wet and slippery week ahead.
