Baltimore, MD – Residents across Maryland should prepare for a wintry mix of snow and rain starting tonight and lasting through Sunday morning, bringing hazardous road conditions and freezing temperatures. Snow accumulations of up to three inches are possible, particularly along the I-70 corridor and in surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will begin late Saturday night before transitioning into a snow-and-rain mix by early Sunday morning. Roads are expected to become slick and hazardous, especially during the overnight hours. Travel along major highways, including I-70 and I-95, may be significantly affected.

Temperatures are forecast to drop to the upper 30s Sunday, with winds reaching 10 to 20 mph. Gusts as high as 20 mph will lead to wind chills in the single digits by Sunday night. Drivers are advised to plan for extra travel time and keep emergency kits on hand.

The coldest weather of the season arrives Monday, with daytime highs barely reaching 24 degrees and sub-zero wind chills likely in higher elevations. A chance of additional snow returns Tuesday night, with temperatures dropping to 11 degrees.

Residents should monitor updates from the National Weather Service and exercise caution when traveling. Those in affected areas are encouraged to prepare their homes for freezing conditions, ensuring proper insulation and outdoor safety measures.

Stay tuned for further updates as weather conditions develop.
