Maryland Weather Update: Scattered Showers and Breezy Conditions Continue Through St. Patrick’s Day

Baltimore, MD – Maryland residents can expect a damp and breezy end to the weekend, with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms continuing into St. Patrick’s Day. A shift to drier, sunnier weather arrives midweek as spring officially begins Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will persist through Sunday night, with gusty winds up to 23 mph. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch are expected. Overnight temperatures will remain mild, hovering around 53°F.

By Monday morning, showers will taper off before 8 a.m., but breezy conditions will continue throughout the day. Highs will reach around 60°F, with winds gusting up to 24 mph. Monday night will bring clearer skies and cooler temperatures, dipping to the low 39s.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will be sunny and mild, with highs reaching 66°F. Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high of 67°F, offering a taste of spring before the season officially begins Thursday. A slight chance of showers returns late Thursday, with temperatures remaining in the mid-60s.

Drivers should remain cautious on wet roads, particularly along I-95 and major Baltimore thoroughfares. Travelers heading out for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations should prepare for lingering morning showers but can expect improving conditions by afternoon.
