Baltimore, Md. – Early drizzle and patchy fog across Maryland are expected to give way to sunshine by this afternoon, improving travel along I-95 and surrounding highways. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s in Baltimore and the Bay area, while the mountains hold closer to the low 70s.
According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, conditions will stay dry Friday with highs pushing near 80 degrees across urban centers. Lighter northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph will help keep skies clear, setting up a warmer day for outdoor plans.
By Saturday, a backdoor cold front sliding south from New England will bring cooler air across the state. While the day will stay mostly sunny and dry, highs will settle into the upper 60s to low 70s in the mountains and low 70s near the Bay, a noticeable dip from Friday’s warmth.
Residents planning weekend outings should prepare for cooler afternoons and pack layers if heading into the higher terrain. The dry stretch continues, but the shift in air mass could keep evenings on the brisk side, especially west of Frederick and Hagerstown.
More updates are expected as the cooler pattern sets in, with advisories possible if temperatures continue to trend lower.
