BALTIMORE, Md. – Fall mornings are crisp, but the chill will ease as Baltimore heads toward a string of sunny, mild days. Commuters and weekend planners can expect bright skies and comfortable air through Sunday — a welcome break for leaf-peepers and those heading to local pumpkin patches.

According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, a dome of high pressure will keep skies clear and winds light through Friday. Daytime highs will climb into the upper 60s to near 70°F, about five degrees above seasonal averages. The most pleasant stretch arrives Friday and Saturday, when light north winds ease and sunshine dominates from the Inner Harbor to the I-95 corridor.

Drivers should still watch for early morning glare and pockets of fog on rural routes, especially across Baltimore and Harford Counties. MDOT urges motorists to allow extra braking distance during sunrise commutes. Residents are encouraged to use this mild window to complete fall yardwork or decorate ahead of Halloween before cooler air returns next week.

Forecasters note a slight chance of showers by Sunday evening, as a weak front crosses from the west. Temperatures will dip slightly but remain mild for mid-October, keeping outdoor plans largely uninterrupted.

Fall colors are nearing peak across northern Maryland, making this weekend one of the best for park visits and photo outings before leaves begin to drop next week.
