Baltimore has recorded 9.5 inches of snow this season, above normal levels.
According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Baltimore, Maryland measured 9.5 inches of snowfall as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, compared to a normal 8.0 inches through the same date.
In western Maryland, Hagerstown has recorded 20.7 inches this season, running above its typical mid-February total. Salisbury has measured 6.1 inches, near its seasonal average.
The regional summary shows parts of the central Mid-Atlantic trending near to slightly above normal this winter, while some coastal areas remain closer to average.
The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at each primary reporting location included in the Eastern U.S. update — an uncommon seasonal milestone.
For commuters, students, and road crews across Maryland, above-average snowfall has meant periodic travel slowdowns and multiple plowing operations during winter storm events.
The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
