BALTIMORE, Md. – Strong winds and unsettled weather will make travel difficult across central Maryland tonight into Wednesday, especially along the I-95 corridor and Chesapeake Bay. Drivers and boaters should plan for reduced visibility, slick roads, and hazardous marine conditions through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, a Gale Warning remains in effect for portions of the Chesapeake Bay until late tonight, including waters from North Beach to Smith Point. Winds could gust above 25 mph, producing rough surf and choppy conditions. Inland, showers are likely to continue through Wednesday morning, keeping roads wet for the early commute.

Baltimore, Columbia, and Annapolis will see frequent showers and strong northeast winds through Wednesday morning. The Tidal Potomac and Patapsco River areas remain vulnerable to minor flooding. Commuters on I-95 and I-695 should allow extra time and use caution, especially during heavier rain bands that could reduce visibility.

Temperatures will remain in the low to mid-70s Wednesday, before a noticeable warm-up begins Thursday. By late week, skies clear, and sunshine returns with highs climbing into the mid-80s by Friday. The pattern shift brings an early taste of fall weather with breezy, cooler nights and sunny, warm days heading into the weekend.

More advisories could be issued if flooding or strong winds worsen tonight. Residents are urged to stay alert and monitor local updates.
