Baltimore, MD – Maryland is in for a shift in weather this weekend as a cold front is expected to bring rain and cooler temperatures across the region. While dry and sunny conditions will persist through Thursday, with highs reaching the mid-to-upper 80s, residents should prepare for a change beginning Friday.
According to the US National Weather Service, rain chances increase Friday, particularly west of the Blue Ridge. The cold front is expected to sweep through the area by Saturday, bringing cooler temperatures and a higher likelihood of showers. Highs on Saturday are projected to be in the mid-80s, with overnight lows dipping into the 60s. Rain chances are at 45% on Saturday, with lingering showers possible into Sunday.
The rest of the weekend and early next week will see cooler temperatures compared to earlier in the week, with highs around the mid-80s and lows in the upper 60s. The weather is expected to clear up by Sunday, giving way to mostly sunny skies. However, the cooler, more comfortable conditions will likely stay as the cold front ushers in a refreshing break from the heat.
