Washington, D.C. – Heat will build across the region this weekend, but the bigger concern hits Tuesday when damaging storms could sweep through the metro area.
According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, a Hazardous Weather Outlook remains in effect for central Maryland, northern Virginia, and D.C. as thunderstorm potential ramps up Tuesday afternoon into the evening. A few storms could pack damaging wind gusts and large hail, especially along the I-95 and I-66 corridors.
Residents should prepare for rapidly changing conditions. Charge devices, secure outdoor furniture, and plan for alternate travel if warnings are issued.
Saturday starts with patchy fog and a 30% chance of morning showers, mostly clearing by the afternoon with highs near 92°F. Sunday brings mostly sunny skies with a slight risk of evening storms and highs in the low 90s.
