Baltimore, Maryland – Summer weather teases Baltimore with a taste of heat next week, but not before Sunday’s storms drench parts of central Maryland.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and a few thunderstorms are likely Sunday afternoon across the region, especially between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with wind gusts peaking near 28 mph. A 70% chance of rain could impact travel on I-95 and cause brief ponding on poorly drained roads. Rainfall totals are expected between a tenth and a quarter inch.
Sunny skies return by Monday with a high near 80°F, kicking off a warm, dry stretch. Tuesday climbs to 87°F under clear skies, followed by more sunshine and highs in the upper 80s through Thursday. Winds will remain light and out of the west, offering minimal relief from daytime heat.
By Wednesday night, lows remain mild—around 70°F—keeping evenings warm for outdoor plans. Thursday brings continued summer-like conditions with a high near 91°F. Some haze is possible early in the week due to lingering smoke from Canadian wildfires, though no air quality alerts have been issued yet.
Looking Ahead: Friday introduces a slight chance of showers (40%) but otherwise continues the summer trend. Residents should prepare for warmer afternoons and monitor local alerts in case wildfire smoke increases or thunderstorms redevelop.
More updates will follow if alerts change or heat risks increase.
