Baltimore, Maryland – Relentless heat and strong storms are poised to disrupt Saturday afternoon across central Maryland, with dangerous conditions expected from Baltimore to the suburbs by mid-afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, Baltimore will reach a high of 96°F on Saturday, June 28, with a heat index near 101°F. Thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m., some of which may become intense, producing localized flooding, strong wind gusts, and lightning. Motorists along I-95 and I-83 should plan for slowdowns and slick conditions between 2–6 p.m.
Saturday night won’t bring much relief. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms could linger until 11 p.m., with lows hovering around 78°F and light winds shifting south.
Sunday will be slightly cooler with highs near 93°F and partly cloudy skies. But the next round of storms returns Monday, with 60% storm chances in the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms may also impact Monday night travel and early Tuesday plans.
