BALTIMORE, MD – A thin veil of frost sparkles across car rooftops and garden leaves as dawn settles over central Maryland. The air is crisp and still — a calm pause before the region’s weather begins a sharp November turn. After a cold start, temperatures will rise quickly under brightening skies, leading to a wetter, breezier pattern by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, a Frost Advisory remains in effect through 8 a.m. for much of the region, including the District of Columbia, Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, Calvert, and St. Mary’s Counties, as well as northern Virginia suburbs. Lows dipped to the low 30s in rural zones, marking one of the coldest mornings so far this fall. Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants before sunshine returns later this morning.

By late Friday, clouds will increase as a low-pressure system tracks east. Showers are expected to develop by evening, continuing into early Saturday before clearing. Saturday afternoon turns sunny and mild, with highs near 70°F and calm northwest winds — perfect for outdoor events or early holiday prep.

Sunday brings a stronger system from the Ohio Valley, spreading steady rain through the day. Some pockets may see brief heavier bursts, especially along I-95 and near the Chesapeake Bay bridges. Winds could gust 25–30 mph at times, making travel slower and damp for weekend commuters.

Looking ahead to Veterans Day, sunshine returns but colder air follows, signaling the start of a longer late-fall chill stretching into mid-November.

For now, Marylanders can expect a quick swing from frosty fields to wet roads — a preview of the winter tease building across the East Coast.
