Baltimore, MD – Elevated fire weather concerns persist across Maryland, especially west of I-95, as warm temperatures and gusty winds create hazardous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, temperatures will remain in the 70s today with wind gusts reaching up to 25 mph. Breezy conditions, low humidity, and dry fuels increase the risk of wildfires, particularly in western areas.

On Thursday, a cold front will bring rain chances, with temperatures cooling slightly to the mid-60s. Winds will shift from the southeast at 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.

By Friday, conditions will turn significantly cooler and windier. Highs will range from the low 50s to 60s, with gusts between 30-40 mph. The strong winds and dry conditions may extend fire weather risks.

Residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning and be cautious with any open flames. Those traveling should prepare for potentially hazardous driving conditions due to gusty winds.
