Baltimore residents will feel an early taste of fall as cooler air sweeps across Maryland to start September. Clear skies and dry conditions dominate the Labor Day holiday, making outdoor plans favorable but signaling a noticeable drop in nighttime temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service, high temperatures will hover in the low 80s through midweek, while overnight lows dip into the 60s. Drivers along I-95 can expect smooth travel conditions through Labor Day, with no rain in the forecast until late in the week. Families planning barbecues, festivals, or waterfront outings around the Inner Harbor should enjoy sunshine with light winds.

Sunday stays mostly sunny with highs near 82 degrees before Labor Day tops out around 83. Monday night will cool again into the mid-60s, and the fall-like pattern strengthens by midweek. While daytime highs remain comfortable, inland areas west of Baltimore could wake up to crisp mornings in the 50s as the broader cool air mass slides into the Mid-Atlantic.

The NOAA long-range outlook shows a stronger push of below-normal temperatures arriving after September 4, particularly across the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley, with Maryland on the eastern edge of the system. That shift may bring cooler mornings and slightly earlier signs of fall foliage into the region.

Residents are advised to take advantage of the clear stretch for outdoor activities and road travel before rain chances return by Thursday. Keep an eye on updates later in the week as scattered showers may affect late-week commutes.
