Baltimore, Md. – Coastal flooding could affect parts of Anne Arundel County tonight as high tide combines with elevated water levels along the Chesapeake Bay and tidal Potomac River. Drivers near shoreline roads should use caution, as water may rise quickly in low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service, a Coastal Flood Warning is in effect through tonight, with moderate flooding possible near Annapolis and surrounding waterfront communities. While flooding should ease by Wednesday morning, showers and thunderstorms are expected to return during the day, especially between late morning and afternoon.

Baltimore, Columbia, and Towson could see scattered downpours and a few rumbles of thunder Wednesday, while Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia may experience similar conditions into the evening. Commuters on I-95 and residents along the Patapsco and Potomac rivers should be prepared for wet travel conditions and possible delays.

Drier weather moves in by Thursday with partly cloudy skies, followed by a stretch of sunshine Friday into the weekend. Conditions will turn warmer, with highs reaching the upper 80s across much of central Maryland by Saturday.

The flooding threat should subside overnight, but another round of showers is possible Sunday. Additional updates from the NWS may be issued if new advisories become necessary.
