Maryland’s Inner Harbor is bright but breezy this morning, with cold air cutting across the waterfront. Flags snap along Pratt Street, and wind gusts push choppy waves across the harbor.

A brief period of gale-force gusts is possible through about 8 a.m. across portions of the Chesapeake Bay and nearby waterways, including areas near Baltimore. According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, the strongest gusts ease later this morning, with quieter conditions expected afterward.

Drivers on I-95 and I-83 may notice crosswinds on elevated ramps.

Temperatures sit near 41 degrees now and climb to 52 this afternoon under sunny skies. Northwest winds range from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph. Skies clear tonight, and lows dip to 34 degrees, allowing for a crisp start Sunday.

Sunday rebounds to 59 degrees with lighter southwest winds. Monday continues the warm-up, reaching 69 degrees under partly sunny skies. By Tuesday, highs surge to 78, bringing early April-style Spring warmth to central Maryland and the D.C. corridor.

Rain chances increase midweek. Showers become likely Wednesday afternoon with a 70 percent chance of precipitation and highs near 79. Showers may linger into early Thursday before cooler air returns, dropping highs into the mid-50s by Thursday.

Secure loose outdoor items this morning and use caution near open water. Boaters should monitor marine updates until winds subside.

Five-Day Outlook for Baltimore:
Sunday: Mostly sunny, 59.
Monday: Partly sunny, 69.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, 78.
Wednesday: Showers likely, 79.
Thursday: Chance of showers, 55.
