Washington, D.C. – Clear skies and cool air will settle across the Baltimore-Washington region tonight as high pressure dominates the Eastern Seaboard, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The agency reported that tranquil weather conditions will persist through the evening and overnight hours, with temperatures steadily dropping into the 50s across much of Maryland, Virginia, and the D.C. area.
Forecasts show Washington, D.C. falling from 72 degrees at 4 p.m. to 58 degrees by 1 a.m. Baltimore is expected to cool from 71 degrees to 58 by the same time, while Charlottesville, VA, and Manassas, VA, will dip into the lower 50s.
Other notable forecasts include Hagerstown, MD, reaching 58 degrees, Martinsburg, WV, falling to 55, and Annapolis, MD, cooling to 59 overnight. Areas farther west, such as Staunton, VA, may see lows near 51 degrees by early morning.
The NWS noted that skies will gradually turn clear as light winds accompany the cooler conditions. This weather pattern is expected to continue into the midweek period, offering stable and seasonable temperatures.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for cooler evening commutes and outdoor activities, as jackets may be needed once temperatures dip after sunset.
