Baltimore, Md. – Drivers across Maryland and northern Virginia will face damp and cloudy conditions east of US-15 this afternoon as drizzle lingers along the Delmarva coast, while clearer skies are beginning to emerge further west.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, a weak low-pressure system is pushing offshore, allowing skies to brighten west of I-81 first. Gradual clearing is expected to move east toward the I-95 metro areas, including Baltimore and Washington, D.C., by late evening.

Current traffic cams show wet roads from Annapolis to Martinsburg, with conditions improving along I-81 in Virginia and western Maryland. Temperatures will hold in the mid-60s to low 70s through the afternoon, with overnight lows dropping into the 50s and 60s.

Motorists traveling east of US-15 should prepare for reduced visibility and occasional drizzle through the evening commute. Those west of Frederick and Hagerstown are more likely to see breaks of sunshine before sunset. Winds will ease tonight, making conditions cooler but calmer.

Skies may stay partly cloudy along the I-95 corridor overnight, but drier weather dominates the region into Wednesday. More advisories could follow if drizzle lingers into the morning commute.
