Baltimore, MD – The National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center says a cold front will bring widespread rain to much of the Mid-Atlantic region Friday, November 7, with mostly dry conditions expected on Saturday before another system moves in Sunday.

According to the NWS, rainfall totals will generally range between 0.25 and 0.75 inches, with slightly higher amounts in parts of Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Temperatures are forecast to drop by Sunday night as colder air filters in from the north, potentially leading to snow in northern Pennsylvania and upstate New York.

Despite the back-to-back rounds of precipitation, river levels are expected to remain steady, with only slight rises possible in some basins. The NWS does not anticipate flooding at this time.

Forecasters note that travel may be slowed by wet roads Friday evening and again Sunday, and residents in northern zones should prepare for a brief taste of early winter weather by late weekend.
