College Park, MD – Maryland State Police arrested a Brandywine man following a reported road rage shooting that occurred on Route 5 in Prince George’s County earlier this week.

According to Maryland State Police, troopers responded around 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, after a motorist reported their vehicle was struck multiple times by a motorcyclist near Surratts Road in Clinton. No injuries were reported.

The suspect, identified by police as 36-year-old Michael Larrell Green of Brandywine, was arrested Wednesday. Green was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and use of a firearm in a felony crime. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Division of Corrections and is awaiting an initial court appearance.

Investigators with the MSP Highway Gun Crimes Initiative executed search warrants at Green’s residences in Brandywine and Waldorf, where they recovered nine handguns allegedly connected to the case. Police said Green was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and are urging anyone with information related to this case or other gun-related incidents on Maryland highways to contact state police at 410-538-1887. Callers may remain anonymous.
