Washington, D.C. – The National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the region, warning of gusty winds and cold overnight temperatures through early Tuesday.
According to the outlook, showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop over tidal waters Sunday evening, followed by strong northwest winds gusting up to 30 mph. On land, residents across Maryland, northern Virginia, and the D.C. metro area can expect temperatures to fall into the upper 20s to low 30s by early Monday morning.
A Freeze Warning remains in effect overnight for portions of King George, St. Mary’s, and Calvert counties, where subfreezing conditions could damage sensitive vegetation. Marine conditions are also expected to deteriorate, with a Gale Watch issued for parts of the Chesapeake Bay and tidal Potomac River through Tuesday morning.
Forecasters say Veterans Day on Monday will bring sunny but breezy weather, with highs near 45°F and gusts up to 37 mph. The rest of the week will feature clear skies and gradually warming temperatures, reaching the upper 50s by Thursday.
Residents and boaters are advised to use caution, secure outdoor items, and stay updated on the latest advisories before traveling or heading out on the water.
