Salisbury, MD – A Salisbury man was sentenced to over five decades in prison after pleading guilty to a series of drug and firearm-related charges in Wicomico County Circuit Court.

According to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office, Kevin Duffy, 43, entered a guilty plea Wednesday to multiple counts, including firearm and drug trafficking, cocaine manufacturing, conspiracy to distribute, and reckless endangerment. The Honorable Karen M. Dean sentenced Duffy to 55 years in prison, suspending 20 years of the term. Five of the remaining years are to be served as a mandatory minimum.

Authorities say the charges stem from a months-long investigation led by the Wicomico Narcotics Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The operation focused on the distribution of controlled substances throughout Wicomico County and culminated in a search of Duffy’s residence. Investigators seized a significant quantity of cocaine and a loaded firearm during the search, and two unattended children were also found in the home.

State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes emphasized the broader impact of drug trafficking on the community, particularly on children and neighborhood safety. “Drug trafficking fuels a cycle of violence,” Dykes said, citing links to crimes such as home invasions and assaults.

The State’s Attorney’s Office also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of several agencies, including the Maryland State Police, Fruitland Police Department, Salisbury Police Department, and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Patrizia J. Coletta.
