Baltimore, MD – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of Maryland, including Baltimore, until 11 p.m. EDT.
Scattered storms are expected to grow stronger through the evening, with the potential for damaging wind gusts up to 65 mph. Hail is also a possibility. The NWS warns that the storms may organize and persist, posing a significant threat.
The watch area covers locations approximately 60 miles east and west of a line from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Staunton, Virginia. Residents are urged to stay alert and monitor weather conditions. The NWS stresses that severe thunderstorms can occasionally produce tornadoes, so preparedness is essential.
