The driver of the Toyota, identified as Jefferson Mena-Rivas, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the Toyota was transported to a nearby hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Lexus driver was also taken to a hospital but reportedly sustained only minor injuries.
