Baltimore, MD – The final Sunday of October will feature more clouds than sun across much of Maryland, northern Virginia, and the D.C. metro area, according to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office.

Forecasters say skies will stay mostly cloudy through the afternoon, particularly south of I-70, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s outside of the mountains. Areas such as Cumberland, Hagerstown, and Winchester are expected to top out near 58–60°F, while coastal zones near Baltimore and Washington may reach the low 60s.

As clouds linger into the evening, overnight lows will fall into the mid-30s in the mountains and low 40s across lower elevations, including much of central Maryland and northern Virginia. Light winds and mid- to high-level cloud cover will help prevent a widespread frost.

The NWS notes that this pattern will persist into Monday, with seasonable fall temperatures and partly cloudy skies expected to continue. The region’s next rain chances may develop later in the week as another weather system approaches from the west.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild afternoon conditions but prepare for a crisp, cool night — particularly in western valleys where temperatures could near freezing.
