Maryland – A cool, calm start is quickly giving way to brighter skies and rising temperatures across Baltimore, with a noticeable shift toward warmer, breezier conditions already underway this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, highs reach near 67°F today with northwest winds between 10 and 15 mph and gusts up to 23 mph. Sunshine dominates, but the steady breeze adds a crisp edge before a much warmer pattern takes hold .

Across the Baltimore–Washington corridor, including I-95, I-695, and I-295, travel remains smooth today with dry roads and good visibility. Still, drivers may notice occasional wind gusts, especially on bridges and open stretches near the Inner Harbor.

The real change arrives Sunday into Monday. Temperatures hold in the mid-60s Sunday, then surge to the mid-80s by Monday afternoon. Southwest winds increase, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph, which could impact high-profile vehicles and create choppy conditions on the Chesapeake Bay.

A slight chance of showers develops late Monday into early Tuesday, though widespread rain is not expected. After that, the warm pattern strengthens. Highs climb to near 85°F Tuesday and approach 89°F by Wednesday, marking one of the first sustained warm stretches of the season.

Plan ahead for rapidly changing temperatures. Dress in layers and secure loose outdoor items before winds increase early next week.
