Bowie, MD – A Philadelphia man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he struck two Maryland State Troopers with a vehicle during separate encounters tied to illegal car rally activity in Prince George’s County.

The incidents stem from November 2025, when Maryland State Police began tracking a black Chrysler 300 with no registration plates connected to illegal street gatherings. During an attempted traffic stop near MD 704 and Glenarden Parkway, the driver allegedly fled, striking a trooper who was outside his vehicle before speeding away.

According to Maryland State Police, the same vehicle was located a short time later at a gas station along Crain Highway in Bowie. When officers attempted a second stop, the driver again fled, striking another trooper. That trooper was transported to a hospital and later released.

Investigators later identified the driver as 19-year-old Isaiah Vega of Philadelphia. Following coordination between Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia law enforcement agencies, Vega was taken into custody in Prince George’s County on Sunday evening around 8:30 p.m.

He is now charged with first- and second-degree assault, as well as assault on a law enforcement officer, and is being held without bond.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as task force members continue to examine illegal car rally activity across the region. Officials emphasized the risks posed by these events, noting that both troopers were placed at serious risk during the encounters.

Additional updates and possible charges may follow as the case develops.
