North East, MD – Two Maryland men have been arrested following an investigation tied to a missing 3-year-old girl reported in an Amber Alert originating in Delaware.

The suspects, identified as Darrian Randle, 31, and Cedrick Antoine Britten, 44, both of North East, Maryland, were taken into custody after law enforcement officials traced their involvement in the disappearance of Nola Dinkens. Randle is currently held in Delaware, while Britten remains in custody in Maryland pending an initial court appearance in Cecil County.

According to the Maryland State Police, the Amber Alert was issued Tuesday evening by the New Castle County Division of Police after the child’s mother reported her missing from Newark, Delaware. An overnight investigation involving the FBI and multiple Maryland State Police divisions led to Randle and Britten being located.

Randle allegedly provided false information that prompted the Amber Alert, which was later canceled. Investigators say further inquiries into Randle’s last known address led to Britten, and eventually, the discovery of human remains in a vacant lot in North East, Maryland.

Randle is allegedly facing charges including first- and second-degree murder, first-degree child abuse resulting in death, and related offenses. Britten has allegedly been charged with accessory to first- and second-degree murder and failure to report a child’s death.

At 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, investigators reportedly recovered human remains believed to belong to a young child. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will confirm the identity through autopsy.

Authorities from both states continue to investigate the case with assistance from the FBI. Crime scene investigators collected evidence from multiple locations as the investigation remains active.
