Baltimore, MD – Snow and ice are set to create hazardous road conditions across Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday for Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil counties, with snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. The heaviest snowfall is expected Tuesday evening, with rates reaching half an inch per hour and reduced visibility.

Further west, Frederick, Carroll, and Washington counties will see 2 to 4 inches of snow beginning around 1 p.m. Tuesday, while parts of western Maryland and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia could receive up to 6 inches. A Winter Storm Watch is also in effect for Garrett and Allegany counties, where ice accumulations up to half an inch could create dangerous conditions Wednesday night.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, as slick roads and low visibility may impact both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. A wintry mix could linger into Wednesday afternoon.

For updated road conditions, call 511 or check local traffic reports.
