Garrett County, MD – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of Maryland and West Virginia, with mixed precipitation and icy conditions expected overnight into Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory, which impacts Garrett County in Maryland and western Grant and Pendleton counties in West Virginia, will remain in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday. Light snow is expected early, transitioning to freezing drizzle overnight. Snow accumulations could reach up to half an inch, with ice forming a light glaze.

Winds may gust up to 35 mph, potentially exacerbating hazardous road conditions. Drivers are urged to exercise caution as slick surfaces could impact the Thursday morning commute.
