Marquette, MI – Parts of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula could see near-record warmth today as highs climb into the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service in Marquette. Sunshine and southerly winds are expected to dominate, though areas along Lake Michigan will stay cooler as breezes come off the water.
The agency said some locations could approach or even set new record highs before a shift in the pattern arrives late Sunday. Temperatures Sunday are forecast to reach the low 80s, with breezy conditions ahead of an approaching cold front.
By Monday, much cooler air will move in behind that front, bringing highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and the possibility of scattered showers. Tuesday is expected to be sunny but seasonably cool, with highs ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s.
The National Weather Service advises residents to enjoy the warm weekend safely and prepare for a significant drop in temperatures to start the work week.
