Marquette, Mich. – Thunderstorms are expected to linger across much of Upper Michigan today, bringing heavy rainfall and the potential for localized flooding, especially in western counties where showers have been steady since early morning. Roads could see ponding and slick conditions as the storm line pushes east.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, storms will affect the western and central U.P. through most of Tuesday, while eastern areas may remain dry until later this evening. High temperatures will reach the upper 60s to low 70s, with humid conditions adding to the unsettled weather.

Scattered thunderstorms remain possible overnight, with lows in the low to mid-50s. By Wednesday, showers are expected to taper off, confined mainly to north-central areas. Clouds will linger, but drier weather will gradually return midweek.

Drivers should use caution on wet roads and watch for localized flooding in low-lying areas. Outdoor plans may need adjusting as storms track east through the evening.

Additional weather statements may be issued if heavy rain persists. Conditions should improve across most of the U.P. by late Wednesday.
