Marquette, MI – Rainy weather is returning to the Upper Peninsula today as multiple weather systems move across the Great Lakes, bringing periods of rain and the potential for a few thunderstorms heading into the weekend.
According to the US National Weather Service in Marquette, rain will begin this afternoon in western Upper Michigan before spreading eastward through the evening. Showers will linger into Friday, with a second front bringing additional rain and the chance for isolated thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday.
Highs will reach the upper 50s to low 60s today, warming into the low 70s west and 60s east on Friday. Temperatures will cool again Saturday, with highs in the low to mid-60s as showers gradually taper from west to east.
Forecasters say the weekend will start damp but end drier, with cooler air settling in by Saturday night.
