Marquette, MI – The National Weather Service Marquette is forecasting periods of light rain across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula through midweek as a low-pressure system tracks east over Lake Superior. After a brief lull this morning, showers are expected to redevelop later this afternoon and evening, spreading across much of the region overnight.

According to the NWS, lake-enhanced rain will continue off and on through Wednesday and Wednesday night, with cooler temperatures and damp conditions persisting. Highs will range from the mid-40s to low 50s, while nighttime lows dip into the 30s to low 40s.

Forecasters say no major flooding or severe weather is expected, but travelers should be prepared for wet roads and reduced visibility at times, especially near the Lake Superior shoreline. The unsettled pattern will gradually ease late in the week as the low moves east and drier air filters in.
