Marquette, MI – A brief round of light snow and wintry mix is expected across Upper Michigan tonight, with slippery conditions possible before sunrise.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, precipitation will develop late tonight and taper off by early Thursday morning. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the low to upper 20s.

While snowfall amounts are expected to remain light, a mix of snow and freezing precipitation could create slick spots on untreated roads and sidewalks.

Conditions remain mostly cloudy Thursday, with highs ranging from the low 30s to mid-40s. Additional light snow and mixed precipitation may redevelop later in the day, especially in eastern areas and the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Friday brings another chance for light precipitation, with rain mixing with snow early before temperatures rise. Highs are expected between the mid-30s and upper 40s.

The National Weather Service notes that overall conditions will remain relatively quiet through the end of the workweek, with intermittent light precipitation.

Even minor wintry precipitation can impact early morning travel, particularly for commuters and students on untreated roads.
