Marquette, Michigan – A light round of snow is expected across Marquette and portions of Upper Michigan this evening into tonight, with quiet but colder conditions returning by early Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, snowfall amounts are expected to remain under one inch, with the snow tapering off overnight. The light accumulation is not expected to cause widespread impacts, though brief slick spots could develop on untreated roads and sidewalks during the evening hours.

Overnight low temperatures will range from 18 to 25 degrees, keeping conditions firmly winterlike. In addition to the snow, gusty west winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected this evening into tonight, particularly across the Keweenaw Peninsula, which may reduce visibility at times and add a biting chill to the air.

By early Monday morning, lingering snow showers are expected to clear, allowing dry weather to return for much of the day. Despite the clearing skies, temperatures will remain cold, with Monday afternoon highs ranging from 32 to 37 degrees across the Marquette area.

Winds will gradually diminish Monday, improving conditions for commuters, students, and outdoor workers heading into the new workweek. No winter weather advisories are currently in effect, as snowfall amounts are forecast to stay limited.

While this system is minor, residents should still use caution during the evening and overnight hours, especially on bridges, hills, and less-traveled roads where light snow and blowing snow could briefly reduce traction.
