Marquette, MI – A fast-moving clipper system will sweep across the Upper Peninsula tonight, bringing moderate snowfall of 2–4 inches for much of the region, according to the National Weather Service in Marquette.

Snow is expected to begin after 7 p.m. EST, with the heaviest rates between midnight and 4 a.m. Wednesday. Counties near the Wisconsin border, including Gogebic, Iron, Dickinson, and Menominee, are under a Winter Weather Advisory through Wednesday morning, where localized totals could exceed 4 inches.

Lighter snowfall of 1–3 inches is expected elsewhere across the U.P., with lake-effect snow lingering into Wednesday, mainly in north to northwest wind snow belts.

Roads could become slick overnight, especially during the Wednesday morning commute. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time.
