Marion County, OR – Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office made two late-night arrests this week after separate traffic stops uncovered methamphetamine, a firearm, and active warrants.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the first stop occurred around 10:59 p.m. on October 7, 2025, when a deputy pulled over a white Dodge Ram in Mill City for failing to signal before turning. The driver, Robert Lauer, 38, was allegedly driving with a suspended license and had an active warrant for his arrest.

Deputies reportedly found a bag containing about 3.7 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a Sig Sauer P365XL handgun hidden under the driver’s seat. Lauer was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail on his warrant and additional drug and firearm charges.

Just two nights earlier, around 11:00 p.m. on October 5, another deputy stopped a vehicle on Carson Drive Southeast for traffic violations. The driver, Joshua Duncan, 50, allegedly had a suspended license, no insurance, and an active warrant. Deputies said they found two bags of methamphetamine weighing 17.9 and 99.3 grams during a vehicle search. Duncan was arrested for felony possession and lodged at the Marion County Jail.

Both arrests remain under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
