Indianapolis, IN – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a wanted sex offender who is accused of failing to comply with Indiana’s offender registration requirements.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Edward D. Lowe, 68, is wanted on a charge of failure to register as a sex or violent offender under cause number 49D27-2604-F5-013099.

Authorities said Lowe was convicted of sexual battery on May 24, 2004, in Ohio County, Indiana, and is required to register as a sex offender under state law.

Investigators described Lowe as a 68-year-old White male standing approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 185 pounds. He has brown hair, green eyes, and a date of birth of Jan. 17, 1958.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone with information about Lowe’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips are accepted.

Officials also noted that Lowe may turn himself in by calling 317-327-SAFE (7233) to make arrangements.

The sheriff’s office said individuals featured in its Monday Morning Roundup were previously registered sex offenders who are now alleged to be in violation of registration requirements, which include reporting changes such as a new address, employment, or vehicle information.

The allegations against Lowe have not been proven in court.
