Phoenix, AZ – Drivers traveling along Interstate 10 through the Wild Horse Pass Corridor should plan for overnight delays next week as lane restrictions take effect near the Gila River Bridge.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 will be reduced to a single lane on select nights from Sunday, Feb. 1, through Friday, Feb. 7, while crews complete earthwork, paving, and barrier placement.

Eastbound I-10 will be restricted to one lane at the Gila River Bridge between mileposts 171 and 173 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Sunday night, Feb. 1, and continuing through Friday morning, Feb. 6.

Westbound I-10 will also be reduced to one lane in the same area between mileposts 173 and 171 from 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, with additional overnight restrictions from 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The affected stretch of I-10 runs between Chandler and Maricopa, passing through the Gila River Indian Community, a key corridor for commuters and long-distance travelers moving between the Phoenix metro area and southern Arizona.

ADOT urges drivers to allow extra travel time, reduce speeds through work zones, and remain alert for construction crews and shifting traffic patterns. No daytime closures are currently planned, and schedules may change due to weather or construction conditions.

Drivers can check real-time traffic conditions and updates by visiting az511.gov or using the ADOT 511 app before heading out.
